SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

HighRater AI is a reputation management platform used by local businesses (dental clinics, salons, auto repair shops, and similar) to collect post-appointment customer feedback via SMS. This page describes how customer consent is obtained before any SMS is sent.

How Consent Is Collected

Consent is collected verbally at the point of service, by a staff member of the business, before any SMS is sent. The following script is used:

"Would you like to receive one quick text message asking about your experience today? If yes, we'll send a single survey text to your number. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out. Message and data rates may apply."

The customer verbally confirms yes. Only after this confirmation does the staff member enter the customer's phone number into the HighRater AI dashboard. The timestamp of that entry serves as the consent record.

What the Customer Receives

After providing consent, the customer receives one SMS in this format:

Hi {name}! Thanks for visiting {business}. How was your experience? Reply with a number from 1โ€“10 ๐Ÿ˜Š Reply STOP to opt out.

Opt-Out

Message Volume

Each customer receives a maximum of one (1) feedback SMS per appointment. No marketing or promotional messages are sent via this number.

Record Keeping

Consent is recorded by the timestamp of the customer entry in the HighRater AI platform. Business owners can review their customer queue at any time via the dashboard.
